How To Make Wooden Swing Bench
Instructions are starting with buy planks and strips of treated wood. You will need two planks of treated wood that measures 24 inches long by 8 inches wide by 2 inches thick. And three strips of treated wood that measure 14 inches long by 2 inches wide by 2 inches thick. You will also have two equal lengths of the chain to hang your wooden swing bench. The hardware store will cut the length chain for you. 2nd, sand and stain wood planks and strips with exterior wax, gel or liquid stain. Remove all sanding debris before applying the stain. Let the finish dry and apply a layer of wood sealer.
3th, place the two planks, side by side and face down on the work surface. Make sure the edges are flush. Place two of the wood strips 3 inches from the ends and perpendicular to the boards. Place the third wooden strip in the center, also perpendicular to the boards. 4th, fix the table setting with cover screws. Drill pilot holes before inserting the screws. 5th, flip the bench over and drill 1-inch holes for the chain along the sides of the boards. You will need two holes on each side of the bench to help your wooden swing bench hang straight.
Place a hole in the center of each plank, between the support fit and the end of the board. 6th, pass a piece of string through a hole in one side of your wooden swing bench and up through the other on the same side. Continue threading the end of the chain through until the hanging chain is found and hook them together with a carabiner hook. Repeat this step on the other side of your swing. Make sure the chain is evenly hooked. Last, wrap the opposite end of the chain on a hook on a branch of a thick tree and use two other carabiners to secure it in place.
